Opus has identified a long-term business opportunity and risk mitigation strategy for assets in the various Opus investment funds through the adoption of sustainable practices.
Sustainability, in the context of commercial office buildings, means ensuring that all aspects of the design and operation of buildings is undertaken with efficiency in mind and that the resources employed are used to their optimum potential.
When acquiring new properties for Opus funds and trusts, we target a minimum 4 Star Green Star certification and 4 Star Australian Building Green Rating. For other properties within portfolios, Opus regularly assesses opportunities to improve the overall performance of buildings.
Opus has joined a strategic partnership with Queensland University of Technology and Integra Asset Management to research sustainability initiatives across the Opus portfolio.
